  • I love how plants add some colour to our rather neutral toned home. The green(ery) gives the home a much needed pop of colour! Here we have the largest (fake) plant in our home and it is a 1.5m olive tree from Taobao! The plant came in 2 separate pieces (we purchased the vase separately), and all we had to do was attach the top (leafy part) to the bottom of the plant. Then open the branches out, like you would a Christmas tree! Speaking of christmas tree, this spot will be great for us to swap the olive tree out for an actual christmas tree in December :)
  • A close up of the olive tree! I feel it is pretty good quality. look at the details in the leaves and the little fake olives!
  • Of course we need some green in the kitchen as well! We were planning to hang some vines off the natural gas pipe (top right of image). However, I felt that it might look a little messy and I do not want to bring more attention to that pipe. So instead, we bring the attention down to the 3 plants from IKEA! The fluted pot is also from IKEA.
  • A close of up that kitchen IKEA plant!
  • This might be familiar to some of you who may have seen my previous post! Its actually REAL dried flowers and plants that I have placed in entryway. Its perhaps the only plant i have that is not fake...though it is very much not alive any more. Given that it is dried, it has a very neutral colour tone, which fits perfectly into our home.
  • In both toilets, we also opted to place fake plants, and the master toilet has some pampas, which were actually left over from our wedding decoration! Who would have thought that adding (fake) plants in the toilet would help to elevate the entire look and feel of the restroom?! Many guests have commented that the toilets look like hotel toilets :)
  • Additionally, we spray scents/fragrances on the fake plants in the toilet so that when our guests wash their hands, they get a whiff of the nice perfume instead of whatever nasty smell the toilet might have.
