  • Welcome to our dining area! If you don’t already know by now, we love hosting guests so we really wanted a place that is super versatile. Thankfully for us, the layout of our dining area is pretty much in our favour so it makes it much easier to play around with the space!
  • We wanted to find a table that could fit >8 people comfortably, yet not compromising on the space so we knew from the start that an extendable table was a must! We eventually decided on the Meera table from Hipvan as the dimensions & design of the table fitted almost all of our criteria. 1. We didn’t do any partition, so the wall where our beverage counter is sitting at is the original length that came with the flat - it’s 1.6m exactly so we wanted a table that was 1.6m (when not extended) so it wouldn’t “jut out” of the dining space 2. We also wanted sufficient space for guests to walk around even when the table is extended, and realised that 2m is probably the max length we can go with - any longer and it would be too cramp for guests to walk around. 3. We want to fit as many guests as possible and due to the design of the table legs of the Meera table, it allows us to fit another 1-2 guests at the edge of the table. 4. We were looking for a perfect walnut shade to match the rest of our furniture and laminate and this Meera table is just that. 5. The table is also super easy to extend and you can easily do it alone without any help!
  • We decided to have a recessed power track mounted on the wall so we can have steamboat without any ugly extension cords! Guests can also easily charge their phones here. Additionally, this serves as an alternate working space since there’s an easily accessible power plug for us to charge our laptops. With the eubiq, we can also plug in our google nest here - other than serving as a digital door bell, it also serves as a speaker so we can play chill tunes when guests are over 😎
  • And…… tadah! Just by simply flipping our table around, we have completely transformed the area from a traditional dining room to a games area. Anyone cares for a game of beer pong? 🍺 We realised that if we have bigger groups, this layout could work a little better than the original one since we can now fit extra guests at both ends of the table!
  • Last but not least, our favourite beverage counter! One of a must have appliance for us was a water dispenser - as the Mr drinks lots of water and we didn’t want to go through the hassle of boiling and cooling water the whole day. We decided to have a beverage counter so we could install our water dispenser here so guests can easily hydrate themselves without feeling too paiseh (embarrassed) to walk into the kitchen to get water. Other than the water dispenser, this is also our coffee station, tea house, protein corner & bar 🤪
