  • The louvre internal windows in the stairwell provide a cosy peek into the children’s bedroom. Outside, the white globe evokes the feeling of the moon during bedtime :)
  • The door is adorned with two cloud plaques bearing the kids’ names. The BUSUNGE wardrobes from IKEA are really perfect for kids. The rounded edges, and the format inside with one hanging rod and many shelves - just perfect for a small child’s wardrobe, and the height is exactly right for them too. Just visible at the bottom is a kids clothes rack for their uniforms - their most frequently worn clothing item.
  • We chose a floor bed partly because of Montessori principles and partly because of simple safety reasons. Floor beds are the safest if you have two extremely active young boys who love to wrestle. I must confess that I didn’t think too hard about the combination of objects on the wall. I just needed shelves to hold books and night lights for the kids’ bedtime. All very functional. I must confess, I regret not getting a smart option for the kids lamps, because now I have to go in and switch the lamps off every single night after they’re asleep.
  • Yes. Everything you need for bedtime. The kids are obsessed with the turtle lamps.
  • The facing wall features one of the best pieces of kids furniture I’ve ever found - a rotating bookshelf. If you’re a mum who is invested in your kids education (who isn’t) then this awesome item holds an incredible number of books without taking up much wall space.
