Welcome to our home! We are @cozyinkovan. We are a newly-wed couple, the Mrs is in the social sector and Mr is working in IT. With hectic schedules and late nights, we really wanted a home that we could come back to, and really recharge. We are still in the process of moving in. So our house is most definitely a work-in-progress. We would love to have you on this journey with us ◡̈ Let us tell you about our story so far! 
This was the original floor plan for the house. We have made significant changes to the layout to accommodate to our current needs and vision. As we like to cook, host and will often have our families over, we found that the original layout for the first floor did not cater to larger groups of people well. The second floor was a very practical layout, however it did not suit our needs at the moment. 
For the first floor, we opted to knock down most of the walls to create a larger space that could accommodate a larger group of people more cohesively. The distinct but connected spaces on the first floor allow us to host a larger group of people but also gives the option for people to break off and have more personal interactions with one another. We decided on a wet/dry kitchen concept that could keep the heavy cooking isolated, but accessible. This also allows us to have a hosting space near food. In our experience, we have often found that our friends and family tend to gravitate towards the kitchen during gatherings so we decided to make it a proper hosting space with an island! In fact, it was Mr's non-negotiable to have a 2.1m dining table/island. We don't have an updated floor plan for the second floor but we had taken down the walls for the 2 common rooms and kept it completely open as we really wanted the space to be light and airy. For now, this space serves as our study and a second living room and we are excited to build up these spaces along the way! We have already discussed with our ID to find the best way we can put the rooms back in the future should our family expand. With the majority of non-structural walls being taken down, we are left with a single bedroom in the house. Now on to how our home actually looks like! This is the foyer area just by our main door. With the L-corner and the overall small size of the area, we were not up to the challenge of finding furniture that could fit in the foyer area. Instead, to keep the space looking cohesive, we went for built-in cabinetry for the entire area. This also made it easier to hide Robert, our trusty robot vacuum from Roborock. (Not forgetting a full-length mirror for Mrs to do her OOTDs and outfit checks before heading out! xD) On the opposite side of the foyer area is the dry kitchen. To make it a hosting space, we decided on as large of an island as the space would allow. With this layout we are able ply our friends with drinks with minimal walking. This also serves as great serving area for buffet food as well! Our wet kitchen is connected to both the dry kitchen and the balcony. We put a set of sliding doors between the wet and dry kitchen so that we can keep the dry kitchen air conditioned while still doing heavy cooking in the wet kitchen. We hope our friends in the balcony won't mind the smoke and smells of delicious food though haha. This is the view of our balcony from the living room, we wanted to be able to separate the living room and balcony and opted for a bifold door. We intend to use the balcony on cooler nights as an open air space while keeping the option open to turn on the AC in the living room. Our Living Room! This is where we spend the most time just lazing around. Most people choose to have the couch facing the wall and have a TV console against that wall. However, we felt that doing so would make the place more of a TV room than a Living Room. With this layout, it gives us the option to connect with the people in the balcony area as well! This is the stairway area which connects the foyer, living and dry kitchen area. This space is normally left open so that the house would have a more airy and spacious feel. However, if we are entertaining a bigger group we can put our Transformer Table in this area to accommodate 8-10 guests for meals and conversations! 
Our one and only bedroom! We chose not to have a TV in this room as we wanted the space to be mostly for sleeping (and housing our clothes). This helps us to disconnect from the outside world and connect with each other more! Thank you for following along our house tour!
