Welcome to our kitchen, the first space you step into upon entering our home. Positioned by the entryway and adjacent to the common bathroom, we initially struggled with the layout, experimenting with countless configurations using Homebyme before landing on this final design. The open concept suits our lifestyle well as we don’t anticipate heavy cooking and wanted to maintain the spacious, airy feel after removing one of the walls. Choosing the bright green laminates was a bit of a gamble but we are pleased with how it now adds vibrancy to the entrance :) 
Making use of the structural wall that couldn’t be hacked, we designed a peninsula to house the induction cooker, creating additional space for food preparation when needed. 
The peninsula also acts as a divider between the entryway and the kitchen. The cabinets and drawers under it provide us with additional storage space. 
Next to the main door, full-height carpentry was installed to conceal the chute and a defunct fire escape (yes, we did apply for the necessary permit beforehand!). We chose a mix of open niches for easy access to kitchen appliances and closed cabinets to discreetly hide messes we're not proud of! Our fridge is also placed along this wall. Though its glass-panelled front doesn’t hold cute magnets, we found a new kind of fun in decorating it with doodles using whiteboard markers instead :D 
Following the much-advised kitchen work triangle, the wet area is situated across from the peninsula and fridge. We continued the design theme with matching green laminates and white sintered stone, but added a touch of warmth by opting for light wood laminates in the cabinetry above the sink. Continuously adding color and cheer to our kitchen, one utensil at a time.
