As part of HipVan season 7 ambassador program. We are delighted to show you our living room. One of the reasons we bought a maisonette was because we love the big space that the living room provides. It allows us to host guests. The living room was designed with ample seating in mind. At the same time it also provides our family of 3 with a cozy space as we enjoy movies or chill together. Tv console was built with storage cabinets surrounding it that extends well into the balcony. Closed cabinets are chosen instead of glass doors to hide clutter and prevent dust from settling into shelves. As comfort is of importance to us. We installed a ceiling fan to provide air circulation and a BTU 240000 Air conditioner should the weather becomes too hot. The flooring in the living room is marble which is cooling and very suitable for our hot and humid Singapore! 
We extended the living room by levelling the balcony. We installed a bay window or settee along the perimeter of the balcony(now part of the living room). This provides more seats for the guests to sit while still staying in the living room 
Since this is our second home and our second time renovating. We decided to build carpentry with storage in mind. The bay window besides being a seating area, also doubles up as extra storage for our home We decided to use the ceiling fan light and a row of track lights to light up the living room area. We chose to go with daylight as our main light source. Downlights to light up the balcony area above the bay window. A 360 rotating ceiling fan to provide cool air
