Welcome to Flat Kopicats! We're a family of 5, us and 3 old cattos. Our home started as a blank white canvas but it's now filled with pops of colours thanks to our choice of furniture and knick knacks. For decor, we love to take inspiration from all the cafes we've visited here and overseas. We sourced for secondhand furniture from Carousell and got lucky! We found a curvy glass table for $200 and a green sofa for $700. A wall shelf is mandatory to house all the knick knacks we collected over the years. Zines, little figurines even crochet flowers! Our ID suggested we painted the beams in the living room to elevate the home's quirkiness and we immediately loved the result! To utilise the entryway, we added a shoe cabinet to store our shoes as well as a shoe rack which stores our daily shoes. We scored our dining table from Carousell as well! It was the most value-for- money purchase for us as it only costed $80. It was oval which was the shape we wanted as we wanted to able to host more guests at the dining area if needed. From the start, we knew we didn't want a dining table set. We wanted to play around with having different kinds of chairs in different bright colours at the table. A daily dose of colours greets us every morning when we step out of the master bedroom. We hacked down one wall of the first room and replaced it with glass panels and a door for our "Listening Room". We wanted a space to listen to our record collection in peace without having to worry about the cattos scratching up the records. We've always wanted a bathtub so we went for it and got one for our master toilet! Geometric tiles were always the choice for our bathrooms. We knew how we wanted the space to look from our moodboards and we were glad we found this quirkly tile at Hup Kiong! The pink kitchen of our dreams became reality! We chose this shade of pink as it wasn't too shockingly bright. We chose the terrazo countertop with pink stones to match the cabinets as well. Our dream kitchen had to have the Smeg fridge in it. We decided to go for it and think of it as an investment! Did you know the bomb shelter door was magnetic? Thankfully it was as we didn't want to stick magnets onto the precious Smeg fridge and risk scratches. When we were looking up inspiration for bathrooms, we actually came across this half-moon tile in other photos of homes. Super grateful that we found it here in SG so we decided to have it for our common toilet. These are actually 2 tile designs that we played around with to create this quirky pattern.
