  • YAY! We're now on Week 7 of HipVan's Season 6 :) This week, we're exploring our home's bathrooms. Our 2 bathrooms are kept simple with different themes - gunmetal vs matte black. While some people have experienced issues of their gunmetal and matte black bathroom accessories peeling or having bad stains, ours has been quite clean and no peeling issues yet (fingers crossed, I hope I did not jinx it!). All our bathroom accessories are from "Bathroom Warehouse" and I must say their products have been really well made and I have no complaints about them at all. They are also relatively cheap compared to some other shops we found in Singapore.
  • For the master bathroom, we adopted the same theme with the rest of our house and added in elements of what we liked - grey tiles and gun metal bathroom accessories. These details highlights B's preference of clean lines and sophisticated look. Our mirror and basin cabinets came as a set from Bathroom Warehouse from a brand called Dusche. We really loved how we could customise the colours of the cabinets to fit the theme we wanted, the size that would best fit our space, and also the sink. There were so many things that we could customise so that it would suit us best; and at a fraction of how much it would cost if we had requested our ID to do up a customised carpentry set for us. Both toilet bowls are from Rigel and they have been great so far! We opted for the zerorim and one-piece toilet bowls for hygiene purposes and easy cleaning.
  • Continuing in line with our master bathroom's gunmetal theme, we purchased the rainshower set also in gunmetal. We opted to have an instant heater instead of storage heater so that we would not have to deal with having an extra tank in some corner of our house. And it does not bother us very much to see the instant heater. This rainshower set has been splendid as it gives us the flexibility of using the rainshower or the handheld shower, to cater to our differing showering preferences.
  • And our white soap dispensers from Shopee.

This is just one section of our mirror cabinet that stores all our skincare products, sunscreen and moisturisers.
  • Dusche's vanity cabinet allows us to choose from an open-door cabinet or pull-out drawer style. We opted to have the open-door cabinet style to fit items that may be taller. This is where we store our extra toiletries and cleaning products.
  • Our common bathroom has a completely bolder and different concept - black tiles at the top with subtle terrazo tiles at the bottom, along with matte black bathroom accessories. We still kept the element of walnut wood in this bathroom at the vanity corner to have some flow of continuity from the rest of the house. This was another customised set from Dusche.
  • Do you spot our 2 mini rubberduckies? These are the same rubberduckies from our China trip. You can find the other rubberduckies in our entryway post!
  • Our guest bathroom has another instant heater shower set, except it is kept in matte black to keep in line with the rest of the bathroom accessories.
  • And our matte black soap dispensers, also from Shopee.
  • We both liked the design for the bathroom doors when we first saw them. Unfortunately, we didn't consider how it allows light to pass through. It does not matter much for the common bathroom, but the light comes through quite a fair bit for the master bathroom. Even though we invested in blackout curtains, the light that comes through the bathroom doors still enters our master bedroom. We have learnt to live with it to save cost instead of rectifying it, and eventually got used to having a little bit of light come into our bedroom. Till next week, where we get to explore the next corner of our home! :)
