A warm welcome to the 11 square meters I call home! The space is a room within a flat which we have designed for two/the hosting of one in mind. With limited space and constraints we create “mini areas” or corners for different purposes and moods to keep things interesting within our 4 simple walls. This is not our forever home but we believe that in any space you may reside in, making it comfortable and a home you want to return to is essential. We hope to inspire those of you who might be renting single rooms or still staying with your parents but want to create a cosy space. We all deserve a wonderful space regardless of size or stage of life! 
The layout of the room is a long rectangular shape. The black box marked out is a fixed wardrobe holding most of our personal items which we had to work around. When designing your small space prioritising your non-compromises is a must. As a student and having frequent WFHs having at least one main work space and a shared seating area for relaxing were our two non-compromises. These two needs resulted in focal point of the spacing being the work station and the sofa. Tip #1: Lamps are your best friend. In a small space 1-2 lamps are able to act as both functional and mood lighting at the same time. High quality designer pieces can cost more but we belive they are worth the spend to eleveate the entire space with just a singular item that has a tiny footprint. (An added plus is they are easy to bring about when a house-move is finally due) Lamp on our bench Another lamp at the far end of the room Tip #2: Bringing greenery into my space has been an ongoing hobby for the past couple years. I belive they are an amazing way to bring life into your home. A single feature plant or several well-positioned ones can convert a plain room into one full of life an interest. (Our plant wall need some commitment of care which all may not have so keep in mind the number of plants as you expand your home plant collections!)
