Welcome to our living room - the heart of our home! We opted to keep the space open with no built-in furniture to have flexibility to change its configuration as we grow with the home. We spend a lot of time here unwinding everyday, and it's where our friends and family love to gather when they come over. Here's the view of our living room from from our dry pantry and dining area. We love how open and airy it feels. We converted the outdoor balcony area into an indoor one! Keeping the previous owner's wooden slats and having different tiles in the area helped to separate the space visually, while it being indoor made it a lot more well-utilised. Our console is one of our favourite pieces of furniture in this space. We love that the angled drawers and fluted glass panels exude mid-century flair, while the chrome legs gives it a modern, futuristic twist. We display our growing collection of blind boxes here (it's an addiction..), as well as trinkets we get from travels. Featured in this photo is our collection of playing cards! Here's our 2-piece faux leather sofa that comfortably seats 4 people. We dream of owning a full leather sofa one day! We use a stool as an interim coffee table for now, and love how it matches our console's wood tone and chrome legs. This Ikea Poang chair was brought over from our parent's home. It's super comfy and we love the wood tone on the frame, which Ikea doesn't seem to sell anymore. My parent's dog, Woody, comes over to stay with us on some weekends! We have to sacrifice some ambience for him and not get a rug for the living room because he will likely pee on it. He has already peed on a couple of floor mats in the house. Recently, we've been addicted to playing Hogwarts Legacy and it's our choice game to unwind after a long day at work! At night, we usually turn on ambient lighting only to keep the space warm and moody. Our brother gifted us a vintage 1950s lamp from Milan which fits perfectly in the space. We love how it illuminates the asparagus fern next to it. We
