The Japandi Theme for our home continues into the bedroom! Embracing the tranquillity of the Japandi theme, we used light wood tones and calming neutrals to create a restful retreat for a good night sleep. The first thing you will see from the entrance of our master bedroom is the L-shaped customised wardrobe! We wanted to maximise all usable space as our 4-room master bedroom is not very big, taking into consideration our King size bed! Hence, we designed a L-shaped wardrobe to make use of all spaces! Instead of having the standard make-up area table, we are making use of the bedside cut out area, as well as the drawers above and below the cut-out area to store cosmetics etc! We specially opted for rounded corners for this bedside cut-out area! This eliminates any sharp edges, which enhances both safety and the aesthetic appeal here! One tip for designing the master bedroom: Get a two-way switch for the ceiling light and locate it right at the bedside! In this way, there will be no argument as to who needs to walk to the main door to switch off the light! Following feng shui practices, we did not position any mirror facing the bed directly opposite. Instead, we hid the full length mirror inside one of the cabinet door! Tip: Customise your bedside cutout area to be the same height as your bed so that it will be levelled for easy retrieval of items. On the other end of the bed, we have our minimalistic bedside cabinet from Taobao! We managed to get this sleek simplistic cabinet that fit right into the remaining space we had between the curtain and our king size bed! Best of all, the cabinet came assembled! To further illuminate the bed area, we installed a bedside wall light on this other side of the bed with warm tones. Warm light is great for the bedroom as it creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere that promotes restful sleep!
