Hello! Our resale flat initially lacked a service yard, but we really wanted to have a dedicated space for laundry, driven by practicality and convenience. With a budget of $2.3k and some help from our trusted contractor, we successfully brought our vision to life! This was the original kitchen without a service yard. We decided to repurpose one-third of the kitchen space to create our service yard. Here’s a breakdown of the costs for the additional renovation works: 1. Additional electrical work; extra light switch and electrical sockets within the service yard area: $120 2. Fabrication and installation of floor-to-ceiling Shoji doors between kitchen and constructed service yard: $1200 3. Additional ceiling light; integrated LED light with Steigen Automated Drying System: $883.32 (promotional price) Total cost: $2203.32 Our service yard turned out exactly as we envisioned, and we believe every dollar was well-spent :) For more glimpses into our daily lives, follow us on IG @houseofgoodcheer!
