  • In the dynalivv household, we're all about saving money wherever we can in our home reno. Throughout our renovation journey, it's was hard having to eliminate a lot of the items on our quotation, but it was crucial for us to save costs. Because of this, we had to find alternatives to fit our home lifestyle, budget and yet still serves the purpose.
  • In the beginning when asked how many drawers we wanted in our kitchen, we said "EVERYTHING". But when we were gifted back with the quotation, we were slapped with the reality that drawers are expensive 🫠. It also didn't help that all the hinges by default was the soft closing ones. So, we couldn't really cut down on the cost much. After much research, I found these pull out drawers from Shopee and decided that we were going to stick to casement cabinets and install these drawers instead. The silverlining to this is that I think I probably prefer this over an actual drawer now. With these, I am able to see everything at one glance, versus for drawers, I would have to open each individual drawer to see my things.
  • We also did the same for our sauces located near our stove.
  • We chose an ice making and water dispenser fridge instead of a regular fridge and then having to purchase a separate water dispenser/ice maker. I know that there's a lot of debate regarding side by side fridges, especially one like mine, but I still don't regret our fridge almost 2 years in. Not having to make ice anymore is such a dream that I wish more people could experience.
  • And lastly, we love how our insect meshes functions as both an insect mesh and a barrier for our cats. We had our insect meshes installed right from the beginning - one of our best decisions we made. Although, one of my tiny regret was not opting for a pet safe mesh. We have quite a number of damaged mesh parts which we hope to switch over to the pet mesh one day. For home owners who have even the slightest thought of having pets, especially cats, please do consider upgrading to the pet mesh option from the get go. If I could turn back time, I would have decided on the rooms I would allow the future cats to be in and have those areas covered in pet mesh. That way, I probably would have saved more money in the long run vs having to replace it after, like my situation now.
