In deciding a proper feature light, I had wanted to go big, but after sharing the dimensions of the dining table and the area we are placing it at, our ID advised us that since we are getting a round table, something round and just one pendant light would be good. If it's too big, it'd then be inproportionate. So, one key thing to take note before deciding your lamp is to first consider the proportions and dimensions of the area. It might even be safe to advise to get the lamp last!

Just a peep at our electrical and lighting plan. This was something we were rather vexed by so I hope by sharing ours it will help you! Firstly, a good friend advised not to place too many lightings near the window if we do not want to attract insects. Therefore, to save cost and not "overkill", we did away with placing spotlights near the window. Secondly, I LOVE REMOTE CONTROLLED LIGHTS (the one that comes with the ceiling fan). It is my cannot-live-without especially because I am scared of the dark and I am always adjusting the fan speed or type of lighting I want. Reading? Bright light. Winding down? Warm light. Thirdly, plan for ambient lighting spots early! The ones I got for kitchen, toilet and dining area have been so functional - whether is it for putting makeup, for ambience or for clearer vision. Fourth, if you are planning to still shift things around, fret not because cute lamps can double-up as decor AND lighting.

Here are a few ambient lightings we got. We were torn between this and the Donut lamp, and after doing an IG poll with our friends, majority chose this! I love that we can easily change the bulb and also decide if we wanted cool or warm light. Of course, we chose warm! We tied some flowers around to give it some pop of colours.
Alas, my heart and eyes were still with the Donut lamp, so we got this soon after moving in heh.

The said remote controlled light that I will always be recommending to people. Ceiling fans are my FAVOURITE.
