  • Before we even balloted for a flat, I remember asking the mister "What are the main colours you want to have in our future house?" The answers changed slightly as the years go by, but one remains constant - GREEN. Well.. not in the sense of having green walls but instead, with plants! With that in mind, we went plant shopping when others went furniture shopping (lol) and here are some plant babies that we copped home!
  • Starting off with our Everfresh tree! We got this from The Nursery, and was a love at first sight for the mister. It was the first shop we visited and I didn't want to purchase on impulse but he really loved it.... so we bought it hahaha. No regrets purchasing this as it really became a statement piece in our home! I cannot imagine our home without it πŸ˜‡ Fun fact #1: Everfresh bloom look like dandelions (see those yellow puffs? those are the flowers!). Our tree has been blooming on an average of once per month and it really brightens up our mood! I mean, c'mon how could you not!!
  • Here's a close up of the new sprout! Quoting our friend, "they look kinda chao tah (burnt)" LOL we were initially worried too but now that we are accustomed to it, we get excited to see such buds! Btw, see that little ball by the right of the photo? That's how the flowers look like before poofing up!
  • Ta-dah! The chao tah bud grows! Fun fact #2: The ever fresh plant's leaves close up like a touched mimosa in the night to conserve water, known as the "sleep exercise"! Its an interesting sight especially for our guests because they often think our tree is dying hahahahaha
  • The 2nd plant - Asparagus Fern! This was purchased from Plunt.co and was chosen for me by the mister because I told him I want my baby too since he already got his - the everfresh LOL It's now placed on our TV console, which adds a nice pop of colour to the neutral toned wall.
  • Look at the fine leaves! Haha I think plants with big leaves don't fit as well in our home πŸ˜›
  • If you've read the post on our Entryway a few weeks ago, you might've recalled seeing this Monstera Deliciosa! This was a house warming gift from the mister's colleague. We were told that it would grow and the leave will 'split' with time, giving it its signature look. But... I think we're not doing a great job with this plant as the leaves tend to brown (really chao tah lol) after a few months? Any plant gurus reading this please give us some tips!! Would love to see this flourish too!
  • Ending this week's post with a dried bouquet from the mister on our kitchen display shelf! Catch us on Instagram @hausofsoh for more daily life updates! :)
