  • Welcome to Ohsohhomely's home! After an awfully long wait of 5 years, we finally collected our keys and moved in end Sept 2024. We are so happy to be able to share with you the home of our dreams! We really wanted a Scandinavian home which is classic and pleasant to the eyes. However, we also wanted a bit of grey to keep things a little different. Thus, we decided to DIY Limewash our living room feature wall! This is 3 coats of limewash paint, Muted Mercury which we bought from Raffles Paint. It was a fun bonding activity for us!
  • Upon coming home, we have a small niche to put our keys or anything important as well as a small cut out for our daily shoes! This is to keep things convenient for us. We decided to conceal our bombshelter door behind our carpentry for a more aesthetic look. We also have a full length mirror so that we can check ourselves out before leaving home! Disclaimer: The mirror is really heavy so our carpenters have to install stronger hinges to be able to hold the weight. We are using Excel throughout the house!
  • We often host guests thus the pantry in the middle of the house. It has yet to be upgraded but we do foresee a coffee machine and other alcoholic related products to be displayed in the future! Our Mayer Wine Chiller is serving us very well being able to hold 28 wine bottles! A hidden spot is made as well for our Roborock to reside in. It is activated daily to help us with the maintenance of the home!
  • One of our favourite parts of the house is our dining/kitchen area. We put alot of thought on how we want to host guests in our new home. We had a 2 year long debate on whether we wanted an open or closed concept kitchen. We eventually settled on open concept since we do not have kids at the moment. Our island counter is strategically placed to ensure that we are able to install a glass door in the future if we would like to close the kitchen! With the Todd's 1.8m long dining table, our hosting sessions has been comfortable for our guests!
  • We wanted to maxmise our storage space in the kitchen thus making it an L shape with the island counter in the middle. We also kept the HDB default kitchen tiles which matches our theme well and helped us save costs! Our objective was to ensure the flow in the kitchen can be smooth and multiple people can go in and out without being disrupted.
  • While renovating our kitchen, we decided to have a feature wall with these cute tiles found at Hafary! It gives the kitchen a bit more character if you come see it in person! We carefully chose all our appliances to make sure it will suit our lifestyles. Like the Mayer Hybrid Hob was one of our best buys. Instead of limiting ourselves to just an induction hob, we have one zone that is heated by Ceramic Infrared - this means it does not require an induction compatible pot/pan to cook!
  • We installed a sink in the service yard for us to use for clothing or just an extra sink in the event the kitchen sink is being used! The water heater has also been pulled out of the common toilet for safety reasons!
  • We are now at our common bathroom which has a darker theme exuding some hotel vibes. The HDB provided mesh was removed and covered up by partitions for a more classic look.
  • Our Master Bathroom has a completely different theme. It is considerably brighter with tiles that make it look like the walls were limewashed. Knowing we will spend a lot more time in the Master Bathroom, we invested significantly more in our WC here with no regrets! We also installed an additional ledge across the wall to store or hold any items like toothbrushes etc.
  • A niche was built to hold our Shampoos and Soaps. For now it does seem like significantly less maintenance required vs glass/metal soap holders!
  • This is where the husband is most proud of as he thought of this vanity design. A pull-out seat that can be rolled around and can act as storage as well. A mirror installed - hiding storage behind it. And a flip up table with additional storage underneath!
  • Our main request to our ID was to have a small cut out in our wardrobe for us to hang out clean, but not so clean clothes! Other than that, our wardrobe is pretty small so we try to optimise as much space as we can here. Thankfully, we have enough space for clothes (for now).
  • This is where our measurements were so well calculated! We installed a settee by the window, have a king size bed frame and also wanted 2 identical bedside tables. If we were 1 cm too much, we wouldnt have been able to fit one of the bedside tables. PHEW! A book to sit on the settee to read while watching kids run around the playground is a dream - that has not been accomplished yet until we find a good book! Thanks for joining us in our House Tour. We look forward to sharing more in the upcoming weeks!
