Welcome to the entrance foyer of our home which is Japandi-inspired! Following fengshui practices, we specially designed the shoe cabinet cum entrance foyer to have a partition so that our main door does not directly flush out to the opposite window. Having a partition also allows us to have some privacy, especially since our dining table is right behind this entrance foyer! In order to have more light at this entrance foyer (which would otherwise be quite dark), we decided to install a tempered reeded glass panel at the edge of the entrance foyer cabinet. We had specially picked a tempered reeded glass panel partition instead of fluted panels to minimise the need to clean for house maintenance. To match the theme of our house, we also specially picked a lighter brown door wrap to change the look of our main door entrance! This is our bright and airy living room and foyer area! We installed a full length glass mirror on one of the cabinet panels so that we can check out ourselves before heading out! We also got a carpet so that we can wear / take off our shoes in this “dirty” area. We installed a cut-out display area with LED light in this foyer cabinet area to display some decoration items, as well as to keep daily necessity items. To facilitate easy storage of socks, we catered for drawers here instead of just purely shelves. To fully utilise this L-shape corner area, we made a hidden storage area behind (which is accessible from our dining table area). We are using this area to keep less used items such as board games, card games, as well as instruction manual books! Follow us on IG @ourbtohome for more home design tips and recommendations!
