Organisation is one of my favourite topics! And with a small kitchen that is used daily, organising and keeping organised is especially important for me. One of the best decisions we made was to include 3 very large and deep drawers in the kitchen as main storage for daily items. The other large and deep drawers store our minimal collection of crockery and containers. I keep the drawers spacious so we can easily take and keep our plates and bowls. These are high frequency areas so it’s important to keep lots of negative space. Our cutlery drawer needs some packing but it does the job! We got our contractor to size the drawer for this IKEA cutlery organiser so that it would fit perfectly. The kids have a dedicated drawer for their kitchen items. It’s placed at their level so they can help themselves whenever they need. Our dry pantry is organised by type of item and we place the most frequently used items at eye level. The kids also have their snacks at their eye level ;) We keep our kitchen sink organised by using the vertical space along the wall. Our mini squeegee helps us dry up the area around the sink fast and easy!
