  • Hello again.. 👋🏼 In this post, we’ll share more about our laundry area. 🧺 🫧 Our estate doesn’t come with a service yard per se, so our laundry area is actually combined with our kitchen! We keep it simple and functional around here, with zero built-ins.
  • Since we don’t get much of the sun shining in ☀️, it affirmed our decision to get an automated laundry rack for its built-in drying fans, to speed up the clothes-drying process. We removed HDB’s original rack and replaced with one from Steigen. Drying our clothes is a breeze since we can do it anytime of the day, rain or shine! 💨
  • They have it in white, black, silver, and even pink! We went with white to match our theme and it also “blends in” with the walls.
  • Steigen’s control panel also fits perfectly on the wall to cover the holes from the previous HDB rack’s hook. We can easily raise/ lower the racks, choose the type of heat etc all with a touch of a button. We can also control it using the app!
  • A dryer was not one of our options, since it will look too bulky in a small space, so we only have a washing machine. We got a 12kg top load washing machine. Our main consideration was because we don’t want to bend/ kneel down when doing laundry to save our backs. 🤣
  • We managed to find a trolley that fits nicely in the corner, where we can store essentials like colour catcher sheets, lint roller, detergent, hangers etc! We use a smaller bottle (1L) for our detergent as the trolley isn’t able to hold the weight of the usual 3.6L bottle. Furthermore, we transitioned to buying refill packs only, so we can easily refill into it. 🤩
  • We also have our trusty 50L laundry basket! It is sturdy and has ample space. Once our basket is almost full, it means it’s time to wash our clothes! 🫧
  • A peek on what’s outside when you open the windows. This area is mostly used to air dry our cleaning essentials. S hooks are used to keep the area organized. That is all!! ☺️ Even though our laundry area is compact and combined with the kitchen, we try to minimise clutter to ensure the area is still somewhat visually appealing, at the same time ensuring efficiency when we do our laundry, with the necessary laundry essentials within reach. 👍🏼
