Feel out of this world at Rumah Beacon. Originally designed in 1971, the Panthella from Louis Poulsen has since become recognised as one of Verner Panton's most significant designs. This is the Panthella 160 Portable, a petite and portable version of the classic Verner Panton design, perfect for use around the home. The hemispherical grey opal acrylic shade with white innerside directs light downward onto the trumpet shaped high lustre chrome base, which reflects the light in a uniform manner. Dark sintered stone backsplash lit up by LED lightstrip create contrast with the otherwise monotonous white cabinets for visual interest and provide the perfect backdrop for Chairman Mao statues. Besides serving an aesthetic purpose of highlighting the backsplash, the LED lightstrip also serves as functional task lighting. The one thing that never fails to interest guests is this anti-fog LED backlit mirror in the guest bathroom. This sculptural LED floor lamp from IKEA spreads an atmospheric light reminiscent of light at a live concert. The limited edition lamp is part of the OBEGRÄNSAD collection, designed in collaboration with Swedish House Mafia. One of a pair of lamps featuring Mercury, the Roman god of commerce, messengers, eloquence, travelers, and trickery. The same image of Mercury once adorned the iconic facade of the Robinsons building in Raffles Place. Sadly, the building burnt down in 1972, and the 162-year-old store closed down in 2021. The lamps which once adorned a cashier counter in what was once Singapore’s oldest departmental store - Robinsons, stand on a pair of beautifully crafted Tangent side tables from TUF.
