  • Hello everyone! 😊 If you love sleep as much as me, the most important part of a home is the bedroom! When conceptualising this space, my spouse and I agreed we wanted a cosy bedroom room without breaking the bank. Aesthetics of the space is not the most important, as long as we could have a good night’s rest! Our considerations for our bedroom space: - No hacking to keep costs low - Conducive for sleeping - Maximise wardrobe space (as you can see, we did an L shaped wardrobe here!)
  • So the number 1 sign of our practical mindedness is how we don’t even have a shared blanket 😂 This is not common among Singaporeans but omg it’s so great not having to fight for the blanket! I’m a serial blanket stealer ✋ 💙 WALL COLOUR? We opted for a dark blue to create a calming effect, so that when we walking into our bedroom we would be primed to wind down. 🛌 SIZE? We also opted for a queen size bed as it was something we were used to, plus it would help our bedroom feel bigger! 🛌 STORAGE BED? We used to have a storage bed and our fungus/mold and dust situation was terrible. When moving in to our new place, we decided to go with a normal bed as we decided we did not need the extra bed storage, and we wanted to be able to clean under the bed easily. 🪟CURTAIN? BLINDS? We knew it would be black out curtains for sure! We had been living with black out curtains and they really create a conducive environment to get enough sleep, especially if the night before we had to stay up. 😊 We chose this onyx grey to complement our grey bed frame.
  • Another quintessential part of our a good sleep: good airflow! We don’t sleep with air con, so having a good ceiling fan was important to us. We love our ceiling fan for its 3 main qualities: - Dimmable light - switchable between warm, white, and warm white lighting - very quiet sound It has other features too like being able to reverse its direction (apparently good for circulating cold air) but the 3 mentioned above were most important to us.
  • A closer look at our black out curtains 😊 We bought these from a vendor in JB. He came down to our home to show us samples and take measurements, and 3 weeks later we had our curtains installed. A fuss free process and it cost us $860 for installing curtains for our 3 bedrooms and living room 😊 Let me know if you are interested in our contact!
  • A closer look at our bedroom wardrobes. It looks so clean and tidy here… but it hides so much!
  • Tadah! I felt that a vanity wastes a lot of space, so we decided to customise one wardrobe for us to primp ourselves (yes, even the mister uses this part of the house!) This is where we put all our skincare, perfume, and makeup. It’s also where I would use my airwrap. We also angled one of our spotlights to face the mirror directly which would illuminate my face when doing my makeup!
  • We also installed one power socket in this wardrobe, for my airwrap! Super handy!
  • Last but not least, a closer look at our wardrobe handles! We initially wanted a simple recessed handle but our ID advised that our carpentry was a little too thin, so it might be hard for our fingers to get enough purchase. We needed a rose gold handle and searched high and low, and finally found some on shopee! No regrets at all as it ties in with our rose gold accents on our spotlights, and brings our bedroom together aesthetically with the practical benefits of opening our doors with ease. Do take note, buy some extra just in case there is some damage (which there was for us!) or if you need replacements in the future 😌 And that’s all for our bedroom! I hope this gave you some food for thought!
