As someone living alone in a cozy 2-room BTO (47sqm) in Singapore, I wanted my space to be practical, but also feel warm, inviting, and truly mine. I leaned into a mix of retro and Nanyang-inspired styles — think warm wood tones, rattan textures, and nostalgic touches that remind me of my grandma’s home, but with a fresh twist. From the houndstooth wall in the bedroom to the arched display shelves in the living room, every detail was chosen with care. The living room feels like a little lounge, great for winding down. The bedroom may be compact, but with a platform bed, soft lighting, and hidden storage, it still feels calm and comfy. Even the kitchen and bathroom were kept cohesive — blending soft colors and textures for a homely yet thoughtful look. This little flat may be small in size, but it’s big in heart — and to me, that’s what makes it truly special. My favourite place to relax after a long day — cozy, calm, and completely me. This little corner brings boutique vibes and big comfort in my small 2-room HDB. Inspired by old-school charm with a modern twist. The green ceramic basin reminds me of heritage pieces from my childhood, now reborn in my own home. My cozy bedroom retreat — designed with a raised platform for extra storage, and wrapped in warm wood tones with a rattan-textured finish. The houndstooth wall adds a playful retro touch, while the space stays calm and snug, just the way I like it. Designed with a Nanyang-retro twist, this compact HDB kitchen uses avocado green cabinet frames paired with light rattan-textured laminate. The look was inspired by my grandma’s home — now refreshed with modern lines and smart appliances to suit a small space.
