Hello everyone, we’re back with our next post! Hope yall had a huat huat CNY and a great Valentine’s Day today.🤭❤️ In this post, we’ll be giving tips on choosing the right art for those empty sad looking walls at home. I know it’s all about minimalism and emptiness now, but nothing makes a home cosier than a carefully curated piece of art or a photo gallery of cherished memories.🥹 Filling up those empty walls can be such a satisfying project, whether you’re a newbie to home decor or a seasoned pro. Here are 6 tips to turn those blank spaces into stunning works of art: 1. Go Big or Go Home If you’ve got a large wall, don’t be shy – embrace oversized art! A large canvas or statement piece can create a focal point that pulls the whole room together. It’s like wearing a bold statement tee lah! Just remember, balance is key – don’t let one giant piece overwhelm everything else in the room. 2. Play with Proportions It’s all about proportion, my friend! A small piece of art can get lost on a big wall, so go for a few larger pieces or arrange smaller artworks into a group for better impact. A small art piece might work wonders over a console or side table, but don’t forget to think about the scale relative to your furniture. You can even go creative and use things like those tribal bowls or rattan place mats you got while on holiday, like we did.🤭 3. Use Mirrors for a Modern Twist Mirrors are an underrated way to add interest to your walls while also opening up space. Consider a funky, asymmetrical mirror to add a touch of modern flair or a collection of smaller mirrors arranged artfully. Plus, they reflect light – more brightness for your home! Can kill two birds with one stone.🌚 4. DIY Textured Art – Make it Your Own Why not make something yourself? DIY textured art is a fun, personal project, and it doesn’t have to cost a bomb. You can create textured canvases using items like fabric, clay, or even string for some depth and dimension. For the DIY art piece on the left, I recycled styrofoam boards from one of my many shopping hauls, cut them out into random shapes, arranged them until I was happy with the layout and then painted over it. For the other piece, I recycled an old packet of dried out wet tissues and used plaster to create texture. Trick is to really just have fun with the process and don’t think too much hahaha. Bonus: You’ll feel super proud every time you look at it!😭 5. Gallery Wall to the Rescue A photo gallery wall is an easy, personal way to fill a wall without the headache of picking one big piece. Mix and match frames in different sizes, but make sure the spacing between them is consistent to keep the vibe clean. You can start with family photos, your favorite art prints, or even postcards from your travels – tell your story!🫶🏻 We ‘re planning to change these up with some family photos soon hehe. 6. Mix Art Styles for a Cool Vibe Don’t be afraid to mix different art styles. Pair minimalist black-and-white prints with vibrant abstract works, or frame some fun quotes alongside vintage posters. The secret is creating a cohesive flow between them, even if they’re from different genres. It’s your wall, your rules – express yourself! There you go – with these simple ideas, you’ll never have to deal with those sad empty walls again. Get creative and make your home your own gallery! Have fun while you’re at it.😉🙌🏻 Bonus photo hehe. Thanks for reading to the end! Happy Valentine’s Day from us to you!🌚❤️🌝
