Welcome to our bathrooms! Let's start with our common bathroom, which we decided to incorporate a more bold and fun design. We first decided on the patterned tiles for the ground, as we were inspired by the beautiful tiles found in many Mediterranean homes. After walking up and down the tile shop multiple times, we eventually found the perfect tiles for our feature wall too. The husband really liked the blue hue, while the wife loved the unique hexagon shape. The subtle variations in shade added even more character to the tiles! For our various gun metal bathroom accessories, almost all of them were from Taobao. It's been about five months since we've moved in and the accessories are all still in good condition. Initially, we had a headache over our vanity mirror placement, because our bathroom window is located directly above the sink. We couldn't suspend the mirror from the ceiling because of our bathroom lightbox. We didn't want to build something over the windows either, as this would greatly reduce the ventilation and was a sure way of inviting mould growth. After lots of browsing, we finally found our solution - rotatable mirrors! On days that we need extra ventilation, we simply shift the mirror aside to let more air through. Tip: Your vanity mirror should be the same width or slightly narrower than your sink/ cabinet so that it looks proportional. We ordered the wrong size initially, so we have an extra of this mirror sitting in our storeroom now 😂 If you would like to get this mirror, let us know! For a small personal touch, we're using this Marauder's Map hand towel, which we bought from London during our honeymoon! This is one of my favorite Harry Potter household items in our home. Tip: Get a ring towel holder instead of a hook - not only will this allow your hand towel to dry more quickly, but it also allows you to showcase the design of your hand towel! Since we had rain showers, we knew that we'd need to get a storage heater to ensure that the water pressure was good enough. After tons of research, we decided on this heater, which lived up to its claim of zero waiting time for hot water! As someone who needs to jump in the shower immediately after reaching home, this is one of our best home investments. Moving on to the master bathroom, we opted for a fluted translucent glass door. In case you're wondering, privacy isn’t an issue since the toilet and shower are farther from the door, and only outlines are visible when standing near it. Since this is the master bathoom that is more frequently used, the design here is more muted and cozy compared to the common bathroom, with simpler tiles to create a calming atmosphere. Thankfully, the window placement for the master bathroom is not above the sink, so we could get a vanity mirror + cabinet to hide all the clutter away.
