We are so excited to be part of this season 7 ambassadors. Welcome to our humble home, a space we've been dreaming about for months, ever since the renovations began. We live in a 5-room resale HDB of 120 sqm, located in Woodlands, right next to the MRT. Over the next few days, we'd love to take you on a journey, showing how this house transformed into the home we've always envisioned.
Our home reflects a harmonious blend of modern, Scandinavian, and Japandi styles. With rich wood tones, sleek dark brown kitchen cabinets, and natural elements like rattan, the space feels warm and inviting. A few feature light fittings and the ribbed glass features add a modern, elegant touch. The earthy tones of our furniture and the clean lines throughout create a balance between coziness and simplicity, making this house not just beautiful, but also functional—a perfect haven for our daily lives.
To save on renovation costs, we decided to opt out of any built-ins in our living room and dining area. For furniture, we mostly bought items from Malaysia and Taobao, and we definitely saved quite a bit! While our home is far from complete, we are happy with how it has turned out so far.
If you notice, we also created a hidden door to our storeroom, which gives a seamless finish that we absolutely love. What's behind the storeroom door is still a mess, so it really helps to hide all the bulky essentials!
