  • Hello, welcome back to @themaomaohome! Am excited to dive straight into our bathrooms for this week's post, as we had spent much time and effort on the overall look and feel. Toilets are important spaces for us as it could help us to relax after a long day (think of candles/shower steamer). This is also because I have always been inspired by the bathrooms at Great World City since I was a kid. If you've been to GWC, you would know how the design of a space could bring us to another world! Anyway back to our common and master bathrooms. They are distinctly different, and it was meant to be this way. The common toilet is meant to be vibrant and playful, whereas the master toilet is meant to be subtle with luxe and classy touch. On another note, we love the integrated sink from Taobao as it is easy to maintain and clean! The quality has been amazing.
  • The subway tiles were the constant accent wall for both bathrooms. We also use large format tiles for the wall, as they look beautiful and easy to maintain. Morrocan floor tiles were used as we love the intricacy and beauty of it. I must also caveat that since they are porcelain tiles, they can be slippery when it is wet. We were aware of it before reno, but we still chose aesthetics over practicality in this case hahah. In order to ensure safety, we have also applied anti-slip solution, and it is no longer slippery when it is wet. The bathroom definitely feels safer, especially after we have showered.

  • A vessel sink was chosen instead of an integrated sink, as we needed counter top space to put our toothbrushes, toothpaste etc. It definitely makes the bathroom look pretty. But take note that water will splash out of the sink if you wash your face (thankfully we dont do that).
  • A pot of money plant was also added to liven up the space. Previously there was a big pot of snake plant, but sadly, it had died recently T.T. Hope that our bathrooms have given you some inspiration for your bathrooms. Cheers, @themaomaohome
