  • We always wanted plants in the house. In our old place, we had many small to medium size plants which made the place full of clutter. When we get the keys to this place, we know ourselves that we will continue to have plants, however, we will keep to 2-3 main piece in the house. The designers understood that requirement and they cleverly incorporate the design into the drawing. To convert one of the bedrooms to an open concept study room, we took the plunge and hacked the wall of a bedroom, including the wardrobe. The idea is to showcase the open-ness of the frontal view when one stepped through the private lift lobby hence the bedroom next to the living room is picked. The designers had a clever concept of a concave niche recess to fulfil the requirement of an indoor plant.
  • The 2nd intent for the concave niche access is to build a conflicting convex cupboard above to disguise or balance the discrepancy in height between the 2 spaces. This is a brilliant way to disguise the differences in ceiling height. As this area does not get any direct or indirect light, we can either go for a faux plant or a low maintenance plant who thrives with minimal light. We followed a couple of IG plant nursery and decided to leave the shortlist with the plant SME. After a plant layout consultation and a couple of shortlist, we decided on Pachira or money tree. It does not require direct sunlight daily so that is perfect. The maintenance of it is to place it near the windows for some indirect light once every 2 weeks would be sufficient.
  • Another plant in the house - yellow palm. The plant is versatile and we moved it around depending on the placement of the balcony furniture. The flow of this plant makes it easy to blend in with the rest of the furniture depending on what vibes we want to create.
  • Just a cotton plant for a soft touch. Love the double illumination with the mirror.
