Hello~ Welcome to our 30 year-old, 4-room HDB in Bishan! We are 2 creatives who just moved in to our first home which we really love and want to share our journey and hopefully inspire some ideas! 
Before embarking on our reno/home journey, we did up a moodboard that captures the essence of our contrasts and similarities and translated it to materials/textures - N who likes concrete, steel, stone and J who likes wood, plants, and glass. 
The size of our flat is 105 sqm or 1130 sqft which is relatively large compared to the newer BTOs around. We fell in love with the large living area and wanted to make good use of it - to chill, work and enjoy each other’s company. Generally the flow of our home is centred around the living room with it acting as a central area that connects to every other room. 
Upon entering our home, you’ll be greeted by our glass partition and our mini display of lobstermen and foldable bikes. 🚲 The glass partition provides us some privacy while letting light shine through. 
The cement ledge is attached directly to the glass block partition which gives us a bit of space to place small items such as our wallets and keys. 
Turning left towards our living room, we have a concrete settee that stretches along our corridor windows which provides us a lot more practical seating area as well as doubling up as a display area for our books and plants. We realise that people who visited our house prefer to sit at the settee more than the sofa! 😂 
The gem and core of our home, the living, boasts a large and airy space so that we are able to host large groups of people comfortably. We are able to shift our sofa to the wall side and rearrange the furniture so that we can convert our living room into a dance floor or a play area for kids when needed. 
We love this off-centre TV console which gives us an area to place our snacks and goodies which we often reach for during movie nights. Hope you like our mini house tour, stay tuned as we'll share more on the other rooms!
