After a long week of using our brains at full capacity for work, the weekend is a sweet oasis where we can finally wind down and chill out~ π If we arenβt heading out or hosting friends, we often spend our weekends cleaning up or making ourselves a nice slow breakfast, enjoying the little things in life π One of the ways we enjoy our weekend time together is to turn up some tunes π΅ and just bask in the music and the sunβοΈ This music corner has been a long time coming since N has always wanted a turntable when we have our own space so that he could play some of the vintage vinyl records which he has from before π€© Initially we were quite worried about having enough space but luckily because we did a layout reshuffle (IYKYK) we figured out that we could have it tucked along the wall closest to the door so that our room would still feel spacious and have a central space for multiple usages ππΌ π‘Tip: Take a photo and sketch over it to get a quick sense of how potential furniture would look like in your space and also how it might affect your usage of the space! Letβs dive into what makes up our vinyl corner! βπΌ First up, our turntable needs a place to sit on and thatβs our wonderful console cabinet which we sourced from Taobao! What made us fall in love with this cabinet is that not only can it display the records that are on rotation (or are just cool looking π€ ), but it also has internal storage which allows us to keep other items such as our vinyl cleaning kit. The cherry on top is how aesthetic it looks! π€© Who doesnβt love a multi-functioning piece of furniture that also looks good? π π‘Tip: Multi-functional furniture is a good way to try out different ideas you have in mind for different spaces without losing the flexibility and practicality of a furniture that serves your needs! (E.g. A standing cabinet that could be used as a shoe cabinet or even as a coffee station) Next up, accompanying the turntable would be a set of speakers to play that groovy smoothie jazz that youβd love (we recommend Manhattan Transferβs Bodies and Souls 100%) ππΌ We got the MILES speakers from Gadhouse which have a contemporary look that complements and reflects the same elements and materials in our home π When not in use with the turntable, the speakers also work via Bluetooth and can be placed anywhere to play our favourite tunes~ π΅ With its minimal and contemporary look, it creates a focal point even on its own. Lastly the star of the show, our turntable! Our turntable is the MATHIS turntable which is also from Gadhouse and like its stylish partner the MILES speaker, its full black body, clean lines and minimal look makes it π¨βπ³π€πΌ During the weekends (sometimes weeknights), N would put on some tunes ranging from jazz to city pop and have the music fill our home, making the weekend a bit more special β¨ +10 vibes πβπΌ We hope youβve enjoyed our sharing of our weekend routine and our vinyl corner which we have even more ideas for in the works! Thanks for hanging around until the end of this post like Curious George hereπ, share with us how you refresh your mind and spirit prepping for the weekdays, weβd love to know!π Hope this helps inspire you to find a weekend routine for yourself!
