It is an inorganic-based molded board primarily composed of xonotlite, a crystal of calcium silicate, along with synthetic resin and glass fiber. This non-combustible material has excellent workability and overcomes the three major drawbacks of wood: "flammable," "warping," and "decaying." • Specification Slow pendulum clock • Battery: 1 AA size battery (included) • Good Design Award 2020(Japan) • The number 6, just like dropping down from a clock face and affixed to a pendulum, swings slowly and ticks the time away. This “CARVED SWING” is the new variation of “CARVED” series that was released in 2010 and won the Good Design Award. A glance at the CARVED clock might have the feeling that the numbers are freshly carved out of the clock face. Only one number has dropped down and works as a pendulum. The number 6 swings slowly and ticks the time away. • The carved letters cast shadows that give the dial a sense of depth, changing their appearance according to the surrounding light conditions. • Designed by Naoki Terada. An architect and designer, he is involved in architectural and product design as well as brand production and direction. He is currently the President and CEO of Interoffice Co., Ltd., a part-time lecturer at Musashino Art University, and a judge for the Good Design Award.
