When designing or renovating your home, the toilet may not always be the first space you think of—but it can be transformed into a stunning, modern luxe retreat. With the right touches, this small yet essential space can exude style and sophistication while remaining practical and comfortable. Here, we focus on the 7 (Mister's fav number :P hehe) things that we did right to elevate our bathroom experience: 1. Replaced HDB Panel to Acrylic Panel We are so glad to have replaced the original HDB toilet panel to the acrylic version. It is also a win that the acrylic panel comes in default yellow light which helps in creating the luxe vibe in the toilet. Yellow light plays a vital role in setting the tone for comfort, elegance, and tranquility. Its warm, inviting glow elevates the entire experience, turning our toilet into a stylish and soothing retreat. 2. Installation of lights under mirror We love how the soft glow under the mirror creates this soothing and relaxing ambience in our bathroom. 3. Storage solution To maintain that luxurious look, storage is key. The mirror and cabinet below also serve as a storage area for our daily essentials like our facial products, toothpastes, toilet papers etc. This helps to keep essentials out of sight while enhancing the room’s modern vibe.
4. Luxe Colour Palette We opted for warm grey and dark grey to strike the perfect balance between subtle warmth and dramatic flair. Warm grey brings a soft, welcoming touch to the space, creating a sense of calm and comfort. It also blends seamlessly with luxe materials like marble, offering an inviting feel while maintaining a polished, modern look. Dark grey, on the other hand, introduces depth and drama. Its boldness gives the toilet a contemporary edge, making the space feel sleek and high-end without being overly harsh.
5. Installation of Toto Toilet Bowl Inspired from our holiday in Japan, we knew we must have the Toto toilet bowl in our house! The sleek and modern design of TOTO toilets complements the modern luxe toilet, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the bathroom space. Besides the look, we love how the Toto toilet bowl enhances the overall bathroom experience through their advanced features, including heated seats, adjustable temperature and pressure controls, and quiet flush systems. These features contribute to a sense of comfort and personalisation that we often can find from luxury hotels.
6. Elegant Finishes and Fixtures Modern luxe is all about the details. As such, we chose gold fixtures for towel holders, shower accessories so as to elevate the room’s aesthetics. We love how subtle but stylish touches like these can take our toilet space from ordinary to extraordinary. Showering here is such a bliss after a long hard day of work.
7. Comfort Comfort is crucial to a luxe toilet experience. As such, we chose soft, plush bath mats and added in scent diffuser with luxury fragrances like sandalwood or rosemary. These little add-ons sure elevate the space while keeping it fresh and inviting.
